Refereeing for
Portlandbasketball.com
Step 1:
To be a referee in Peaceful and Recreational Athletics, Inc. you must
be a member of a state-sanctioned organization. We have listed a few of them
below. If you are in your 1st year, you will be asked to attend 2 referee
clinics of your choice (held by Peaceful & Recreational Athletics).

every Wednesday at Cleveland High School at 6:30pm. Call

| This group primarily
deals with official recreational ball. They are smaller than
PBOA (about 75 members) and do recreation leagues in
Beaverton, Tigard, Lake Oswego, etc. They have many PBOA
members who work both associations. |
Step 2:
All interested persons interested becoming
a referee for portlandbasketball.com must fill out the following
forms:
- Referee Registration
- W-9 Form
- I-9 Form
- Referee Contract
- Read and understand Federal Independent

Upcoming Referee Meetings:
Referee/Orientation Meeting:
RULE: All referees are required to attend 2
meetings per year (except referees who are only refereeing
seasonally and referees with 3,000 games in our leagues who only
need to attend 1 meeting per year). Upcoming meetings in BOLD.
CPR Meeting:
RULE: Lead officials need to be First Aid/CPR
certified, before ever being a lead official.
Re-certification must occur one time per year. All lead
officials must hit one of the below re-certification meetings below-
to be eligible to be a lead official.
End of the Year Awards Night:
This is a night to celebrate the hard work and
accomplishment of our referees.
