PortlandBasketball now does gym floors

PortlandBasketball.com is adding something NEW to our business- as Coronavirus has put basketball scheduling on hold for a bit. We have an incredible staff that wants to be more steady in our work. As of today, we are NOW in the business of refinishing gym floors. I spent this summer with the owner of CourtSports Erik Sigurdson- who has 24 years of experience refishining & redesigning 100s of courts including Gonzaga, U of Portland, Pacific University, other colleges/universities and various NBA courts. Courtsports is known as the 'Picasso' of the gym floor industry- very skilled artistic work. For us- adult basketball players- we see their work at Warner Pacific College - Beaverton Hoop and Club Sport. PortlandBasketball is now in the business of gym floors with CourtSports (we work with CourtSports in recoating &/or redesigning gym floors). Portlandbasketball is excited about this and we hope that you can refer us - as we get started.

TWO TYPES OF SERVICE

  1. 'Recoating'- most gym floors need yearly recoating (or depending on use- every 18 months). With equipment and our crew, we can get this done in two days (leaving you with a great court and five days dry time)

  2. 'Redesign'- is where we take the existing gym floor- lines & logos and we sand all the way to 'bare wood' and then redo all of the lines- logos- branding. This process can also be known as a 'rebranding' or a 'reboot' for your gym or sports program. This could bring excitement to your program, bring a sense of 'cool' and 'cutting edge' to your school and to alumni- not to mention to your recruits. Think of Chip Kelly/Nike and the U of Oregon and the cool/cutting edge uniforms that brought national attention- and recruits to U of Oregon football; I believe that a similar 'cutting edge' gym floor can influence your sports program. Examples of redesign can be seen with the pictures to the right. Note that we can tint areas of the 3-point arc and lanes, we can thicken the out of bounds lines, we can add sponsor logos and we can even create words or logos to push concepts that your school might want to communicate. Text me a picture of your gym (or I can look it up) and lets go back and forth to see if we can come up with something amazing!

BRIGHTEN YOUR COURT LIGHT COURTS = BETTER MOODS

Brighten your court- by sanding the wood to its original color (nearly a white maple) and then painting over the beautiful maple with a white tint (see below); your gym floor will feel modern- brighter and more fun. Being in basketball my whole life, I have always been excited to play on well lit courts but discouraged by dark courts & dark gyms; certain gyms feel morouse while other gyms feel fun and vibrant. Let us work with you on a design to make your gym fun/exciting, vibrant looking (and containing all of your logos and anything you want to communicate).

REBRAND YOUR PROGRAM by REDESIGNING YOUR COURT-

Unique design- as seen here with this gym at Washington State University (below); you see grey tinting and various designs painted on this court representing WSU (CourtSports 2020).
