Don't have a full team? No problem. Portland Basketball offers a unique way for individual players to get into league games whenever they want.
1 Game Commitment
Pick to Play is a web page where you can "pick" any of 28 available games to play in across the 3 days per week that we run.
The unique thing about Pick to Play is that you sign up & pay for just 1 game at a time. You are only committed to the game you choose. If you are in the mood to play, just go to the page and get in a game!
Game Format & Refs
Most Pick to Play options are games with 2 referees, playing against real teams in the league.
Some options (like Sunday mornings) are 2 groups of individuals playing with a game supervisor instead of referees. Either way, each game option is clearly described on the page so you know exactly what you are picking.
Note: Players are always required to substitute equally.
The Golden Rule
When you play as an individual in our Pick to Play system, we have one major rule:
You can dribble a lot OR you can shoot a lot... but where we draw the line is that you cannot do BOTH.
Restated: You are not allowed to be both the extreme dribbler AND the extreme shooter. Share the ball and play team basketball!
